UTPA Workstudy of the Year Awards 2012 was held on April 11th to honor nominated study workers for their service. Mrs. Julie Pecina received the 2012 Workstudy Success Profile Award. She shared her experiences as a study worker, which allowed her to work on campus with a flexible schedule and focus on receiving her degree. She is currently the coordinator for the Undergraduate Special Education program at the College of Education.
Dr. Fedrica Berardo visited the University of Texas-Pan American between November 1st through the 16th to collaborate her research and share her disseration with the UTPA students Free Operant and Discrete Trial Instruction: Efficacy and Efficiency. She is a faculty member at the University of Parma (Italy) under the College of Psychology and a supervisor for the TICE Learning Center.

Parent Forum held last spring. Parents of students with special needs were invited to speak about their experiences; 3 of the 4 speakers were SCEC members-Cristina Adame (member), Gloria Martinez (scec VP), Rosalinda Trevino (member), and Mr. Hancock (friend of scec).
