Faculty Recruitment

As The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) evolves into a research university, it is committed to building a highly qualified and diverse faculty in support of academic excellence. Your service as a search committee member or as an Affirmative Action Advocate (Advocate) is instrumental to this commitment.

As UTPA transitions into UTRGV, a set of guidelines has been developed to assist our departments and search committee members. The guidelines provide guidance to ensure a fair and effective process to follow as you recruit colleagues to serve our diverse student population. Please contact your respective college's Office of the Dean for a copy of the guidelines. 

Faculty Search Training Requirements

All faculty serving on search committees are required to complete the necessary trainings in order to participate. Training is required to be completed every two (2) years. All search committee members are required to complete the following module via Blackboard:

If serving as the Affirmative Action Advocate (AAA), a second module must be completed via Blackboard:

Faculty Search Training Completion Report

Please click on the title of each training module to view a completion report as to the individuals that have completed the training sessions from Fall 2013 through March 2015. Please check with the Assistant Dean for Administration for completion status of training modules after March 2015.
