Dr. Glenn Martinez earned his Ph.D. in Hispanic Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts in 2000. He also received a MPH in Social and Behavioral Health from Texas A&M Health Science Center in 2011. Dr. Martinez is the Director of The University of Texas-Pan American's Medical Spanish Program designed to provide advanced language skills for undergraduate students in health-related degree programs. His research primarily focuses on language issues in the U.S.-Mexico border region. He has authored numerous publications on language policy in health care and on the training of health care professionals for multilingual populations.
