  • Conducting research on the effects of the use of Therapeutic Listening on increasing language skills in Spanish dominant children.
  • Member of a Collaborative Research Team working with the UT Pan American Rehabilitation Department in researching correlations between diabetes/obesity and learning disability.
  • Conducting research on the perceptions of the general population with individuals who stutter.
  • Can discuss speech and language issues with adults and children in all areas of communication disorders.

Biography:

Dr. Ruth Crutchfield received her Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology from Nova Southeastern University in May 2010. She is currently Program Director and Associate Professor at The University of Texas-Pan American. Her experiences range from working as a speech-language pathologist in the school system, working with the geriatric population in a nursing home and outpatient facility, and working with the pediatric population in all scopes in an outpatient rehabilitative facility. Dr. Crutchfield's research mainly focuses on music therapy with bilingual children. She has attended various workshops from which she is able to draw a prescriptive treatment plan.
