Endowments at The University of Texas-Pan American are a sound investment in a better future, providing steady financial support for the University’s academic programs and other needs. There are many endowment opportunities and funding levels available at the University to match a donor’s interest.  Endowment funds are invested for the long-term and earnings from those investments help support outstanding faculty, innovative programs and student scholars.

Student Scholarships and Fellowships

Many of our students are working professionals with career and family obligations and are at UTPA to get the best education available. Scholarships and fellowships relieve financial burden, allowing top students to access our programs and fully focus on their educational career.

Program Endowments and Excellence Funds

You can also set up an endowment in specific or general programs throughout campus. You can choose to support the area in which you earned your degree or another program that may be of interest to you.

Chairs and Professorships

An endowed chair, named for the donor, is one of the highest honors a university faculty member may receive. Endowed professorship funds enable UTPA to attract and retain outstanding faculty members. An endowed professorship is a permanent fund established to support a faculty position. Gifts to endowments are invested to create a powerful resource that grows in perpetuity.
Endowed chair holders will help to recruit outstanding faculty and students to their program, serve as mentors for younger faculty members, and engage in innovative research. The initial investment in an endowed chair becomes a significant source of future resources to the academic enterprise.
