Welcome to the UT Pan American Alumni Center

A special home for some very special people

From their long-time home in the University Center to a separate 4,000-square-foot facility of their own, the Office of Alumni Relations and the UTPA Alumni Association are ready to welcome former students and friends alike to the University’s first-ever UT Pan American Alumni Center.

Located at 2402 S. Closner Boulevard in Edinburg, the Alumni Center is a former retail facility that has been refurbished – and newly furnished – to create an attractive, welcoming environment for alumni when they return home for a visit to their alma mater.

Adjacent to the large UTPA Academic and Administrative Annex, which houses numerous Community Engagement and Student Affairs programs, the Alumni Center features a reception area, a large open gallery, conference room, small library, several offices and an expansive outdoor area for entertaining. “We are so excited to finally have a special home for our alumni,” said Debby Grant, director of alumni relations. “Though we are a little distance from the main campus, we still feel very much a part of the University because of the neighboring Annex, which in a year or so will be home to much of the Department of Art.”

“For our alumni to have a place of their own is a dream come true,” she added.

While the interior of the Alumni Center has been renovated and is ready for visitors, there is some work still to be done to the exterior, including resurfacing the large patio area, reroofing the building and adding some landscaping and signage.

“Once that is all done, we plan to have a huge open house this fall to welcome everyone in,” said Grant. “All of our alums and friends should be watching their email for an invitation.”
