Wellness and Recreational Sports Complex





A Help UTPA keep the 2014 UTPA Physical Activity Challenge trophy.  Sign up for the challege at Registration for the challenge is April 1st - May 7th.  Those that sign up for the challenge will receive a free pedometer to track activity progress.  To complete the challenge employees must log 50,000 steps per week for ALL six weeks of the challenge.   


Activity groups consist of walking, running, cycling, and yoga groups.  All groups have a responsible leader who has committed to be present to lead the activity.  Any questions regarding the activity should be directed to the activity leader.  All activity groups willl begin May 1 and end June 12.  Listed below are the days, times, locations, and responsible leaders.  All fitness levels welcome.

UTPA is partnered with Weight Watchers at Work to offer UTPA employees a 17-week weight loss program on campus.

The Weight Watchers 17 week weight loss program features:
- 17 weekly on campus group meetings
- Free Weight Watchers etools (access to online recipes, points tracker, and much more).
- Leadership and guidance support from a successful Weight Watchers member.

The cost of the program is $186.00.  Subsidy is available also for $93.00 and limited to 40 employees.  Those seeking subsidy should contact Colette Cabot at for more information.

Informational meeting for the first 17 week session will be held on Wednesday April 30th at the WRSC.
