  • Hanna Marble

    Hanna Marble

Hi all! My name is Hanna Marble, and I admit to having never been a fitness junkie until I reached the ripe age of 18. Up until then, I was all about cardio, cardio, cardio due to self-image issues, and I wasn't happy with that at all. Late into my first semester at UTPA, I decided to try out one of the yoga classes offered at the WRSC. I was taken aback by how difficult the activity actually was! Never would I have imagined that I would become interested in building my physical strength. There are so many facets to the practice of yoga and new information I learn every day that I enjoy sharing with others. I want others to have the same experience that I did - that light switch that turns on and encourages someone to get active to better themselves whether it be physical or mental. For me, yoga was the light switch because it's about doing what you can and not focusing on looking or being a certain way in a world of constant competition. It's about feeling good in your own skin. It's about addressing the pain you may feel and learning how to effectively adjust to be happy. I just want to get other people to understand that yoga isn't some weird "hippie cult" or some elitist club of bendy, flexible folks; rather, it's good for anyone and everyone!

  • LaVida Williams

    LaVida Williams

I enjoy an array of sports and physical activities such as surfing, kite-surfing, dancing, skating, skydiving, skiing, and tennis to name a few. I have practiced different methods of fitness and spiritual growth such as Bikrahm yoga, meditation, Sufism, Emotional Freedom Technique, Crossfit, Capoeira, and several forms of dance ranging from ballet to Latin. I am always eager to try a new sport or go on a wild adventure and because of my vivacious spirit I'm never disappointed. I care about the food that nurtures my body. I promote eating clean and local, and I even have my own garden. I have taken nutrition workshops and I am always trying to create healthier alternatives. I know the strong importance in having a close relationship with my community and so you can usually find me at a beach clean up, or other community events. I am certain that my well rounded love for being active and healthy will always keep me moving in some way, shape, or form. And most importantly, I am eager to share my experiences and inspire you. Aloha, LaVida
