COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES (CAPS)
Counseling and Psychological Services helps students with their personal concerns so they can meet the daily challenges of student life. Staffed by licensed mental health professionals, CaPS is open 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

DISABILITY SERVICES
Works to provide students with documented disabilities (physical, learning, hearing, vision and psychiatric) accommodations in the classroom, such as extended test time, note-takers, and assistive technology. Hours are M-F 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES
Provides counseling, crisis intervention and consultations for students who may have a substance abuse concern/issue. Books, videos and literature are available for faculty, staff, and students. Hours are M-F 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

VETERANS SERVICES CENTER
Assists student-veterans by certifying for educational benefits, advocating for necessary services for veterans, providing academic advisement and mental health counseling to student-vets, developing projects to unite the university with our local community, and promoting student involvement and excellence with the UTPA Veteran Student Organization and National Honor Society. Hours are M-F 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

STUDENT JUDICIAL AFFAIRS/OFFICE OF THE DEAN OF STUDENTS (DOS)
Provides ombudsperson services, mediation services, leadership opportunities, and enforces the Student Code of Conduct. Hours of operation are M-F 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

CAMPUS ASSAULT RESPONSE EFFORT(CARE) ADVOCATE
CARE is a proactive program that includes aggressive ongoing education/prevention efforts for students, faculty, and staff as well as coordinated intervention efforts in the event of a sexual assault. Contact: Dolores Villarreal at 665-5375 or Kim Nguyen-Finn at 665-2574.
ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT AND MENTORING CENTER
Serves Freshmen and Sophomores who have passed all sections of the TSI. Provides academic advisement, probation/suspension advisement, study skills sessions, career exploration assistance, and transfer information and resources. Hours of operation are M-F 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

LAC TUTORING
Offers free tutoring to students in Math, Science, History, Political Science, Spanish, French, Philosophy, Reading, and Writing. Call individual labs for hours of operation. Location: Most labs in LEAC Bldg; Writing in Library.
