Frequently Asked Questions:
Who has to attend Bronc Roundup?
All new "entering freshman" students who will begin taking classes at UTPA as "official" college students during the Summer I, Summer II or Fall 2014. This means anyone who has just recently graduated high school in May/June 2014.
What is the Bronc Roundup?
Bronc Roundup is the final step to completing the New Student Orientation process. It is a 1-day mandatory event that is roughly referred to as the final welcome before Fall classes start on Monday, August 25!
When is Bronc Roundup?
Either on Thursday, August 21st or Friday, August 22. Students are required to attend the date they registered for when they registered for orientation online through ASSIST. We will be calling, emailing and sending post card reminders to students for the date they registered for. The mandatory program runs all day (8am - 5pm) on both Thursday and Friday. We will also have an optional event on Saturday, August 23rd 10am - 2pm.
Where is the Bronc Roundup held?
On the entire UTPA campus.
Why do I have to attend the Bronc Roundup?
Because it is the 2nd and most important part to completing your orientation to UTPA! There is so much UTPA has to offer that we just could not cover it all in the 1-day orientation sessions. We do NOT want for you to miss out on anything as a student so we want to make sure you have all the information available. Even though this event is mandatory does NOT mean it will be boring, check out the "Bronc Roundup" link to the left of this page and select any of the available dates to watch some video footage and picture collages from the past events. We all had a blast and look forward to 2014 because it will definitely be bigger and better. We look forward to seeing you in Bronc Country!
