IP Address:
The IP (Internet Protocol) address has a length of 32 bits divide into four 8-bit parts, separated by a period and is used to identify a host on the network. An example ip address would be 129.113.1.1.
Domain Name System (DNS):
DNS is an Internet service that translates domain names into IP addresses. Because domain names are alphabetic, they are easier to remember. The Internet however, is really based on IP addresses. Every time you use a domain name, therefore, a DNS service must translate the name into the corresponding IP address. For example, the domain name www.utpa.edu translates to 129.113.10.117.
