SI Program Qualifications for SI Leaders and Classes

Qualifications for SI Class:

• Historically-difficult course (30% or higher failure rate; at UTPA can be as low as 25%)
• Instructor must have one large class (90+ students) or several sections of the same class, for example, three sections of 30 students each

Qualifications for SI Leader

• Junior, senior, or graduate status
• Minimum 3.0 grade point average
• Must have taken proposed SI class and passed it with A or B
• Must have SI Class instructor’s approval
• Must attend regularly scheduled workshops
