HowtoStudy.Org (provides tips and strategies leading to academic success)

Learning Express Library (highly recommended by the tutoring staff, this database provided by the UTPA library prepares UTPA users for undergraduate and graduate school entrance exams and contains reading/writing content. UTPA users can create their own usernames and passwords to keep track of their progress.)

Active Reading: Comprehension and Rate from Dartmouth's Academic Skills Center (a wonderful collection of methods, videos, and Learning Links for college readers)

Khan Academy (self-paced videos and handouts on this site--free to all--were judged credible by a UTPA Faculty member)

Sparknotes.com (Also recommended by a student, this website has great supplemental material when reading literature and preparing for tests—please remember material on this site should be supplemental to your reading.)

Wikipedia.com (recommended by a UTPA student, this site provides a great starting point for research topics because of its many links (including some to primary material related to your research). One caveat: anyone can edit the entries though there are wonderful editors who try to minimize incorrect or misleading entries.
