Financial aid is derived from federal, state, institutional and private fund(s) used to assist eligible students in funding their education. Financial aid can be a combination of grants, loans, work-study, scholarships, and exemptions. There are also waiver programs from the state of Texas that allow certain out of state or non-resident students to pay in-state tuition. Grants, loans, work-study and scholarship funds are initially awarded based on a full-time cost of attendance during the fall and spring semesters. If a student’s enrollment changes funds may be reduced. Some grants, scholarships and loansrequire a certain level of enrollment to keep the award.
