Who are we?
The University of Texas-Pan American Bacchus & Gamma Chapter is part of the National Bacchus Network with college and university affiliates in every state plus Canada, Mexico, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico and Australia. Bacchus & Gamma members act as peer educators, leaders, activists and role models.
What do we do?
The UTPA chapter primarily focuses on changing attitudes while increasing awareness and knowledge about health and wellness issues (alcohol and drug abuse, impaired driving, sexual responsibility, HIV and nutrition). Bacchus & Gamma provides information sessions, hosts campus events, and participates in many campus activities. Some of the organization's campaigns include: National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week, Great American Smokeout, World Aids Day, Sexual Responsibility Week, Safe Spring Break, and Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
