The mission of Student Health Services is to promote the student wellness and the attainment of wellness by enhancing the student's ability to seek, obtain, and follow appropriate health care advice and treatment. Student Health Services continues to advance its wellness mission by insuring that affordable, comprehensive, quality health care is available to all students of The University of Texas-Pan American. This mission is accomplished by:
- Providing quality health services to all enrolled students regardless of race, nationality, sexual orientation, age, religion, gender, disability, or income level. With compassion and understanding, we will honor the dignity and diversity of our patients.
- Providing a wide selection of services that support the university campus health and promote wellness. If indicated, the student will be referred to outside agencies for services not available at the Student Health Services.
- Striving to be the primary advocate on campus for health related issues and health policy development and reform.
- Advocating student's rights and confidentiality related to their health.
- Striving to improve the quality if care and maintain AAAHC accreditation. An active, integrated, organized, peer-based program of quality management and improvement will be utilized to continually monitor, identify, evaluate and appropriately address problems as they arise.
- Believing that the student should have a voice on the services and treatment offered.
- Promoting health education, disease prevention, health promotion, and enhancing wellness programs.
Finally, in keeping with the University of Texas-Pan American Mission Statement, dedicating ourselves to professional excellence.
