About UPB
Mission Statement
The purpose of UPB shall be to provide comprehensive social, cultural, educational, and recreational programming for the University community, with primary responsibility and accountability to the students of The University of Texas-Pan American.
What do we do?
Together The Executive Board and the programming assistants coordinate programs that you want to see on campus. Sure, the work is hard, but we have fun doing it!!! In addition we get experience working with contracts, vendors, artists, and the planning of major programs like Welcome Week and Homecoming.
What's in it for me?
UPB committee chairs and programming assistants develop many invaluable life/career skills through their role, such as team work, event coordination, publicity and marketing, budget management just to name a few. Involvement in UPB also opens many doors that are not directly offered to most students. UPB members have been given the opportunity to attend many elite university functions and meet various prestigious individuals because they also serve as representatives of the university community.
The greatest treasure you will take away from participating in UPB is what you will learn about yourself as well as the valuable leadership experiences and lessons that will have a lifetime impact.
