Registration Process

The Student Leadership Academy is open to all students regardless of major or class standing.  Students may receive a registration packet and schedule an appointment for an orientation at the Dean of Students Office, located on the first floor of the University Center.

Students may enter the program at anytime. Students may attend academy workshops and presentations without being a registered member of the academy.

Requirements for Graduation:

Students who complete at least ten of the academy programs—five required programs, plus five other programs of their choice—will graduate from the academy and earn a certificate of completion. Academy topics include leadership and diversity, leadership styles, goal setting, effective communication, women and leadership, self-esteem, ethical leadership, service and volunteerism, effective self assessment, and many more.

Applying for Graduation:

Exit interviews must be scheduled one month before graduation ceremony.  Verification of completed programs will occur during the exit interview with the Academy Coordinator.  Academy graduates will be recognized with a certificate of graduation and academy polo at the end of the year graduation ceremony.  Students will also be recognized at the annual student awards convocation.
