The Associate Vice President/Dean of Students oversees the Wellness and Recreational Sports, Child Development, Student Health Services, Disability Services, Multicultural Center, Community Service Connection, Student Leadership Program, Judicial Services, Student Union, Residence Life, campus programming, student involvement, Fraternity/Sorority Life, student organizations, Substance Abuse Services, University Scholars, Empowerment Zone, and Student Government Association. The goal of these units centers on creating a seamless connection between curricular and co-curricular learning environments. To that end, the programs and services are designed to encourage student participation in on and off campus activities that will help build an appreciation of cultural diversity and expression, communications skills, leadership skills, civic responsibility, self discipline, self-understanding, self-confidence and personal and professional goals and values.
Ultimately, these units are working in a cooperative relationship with faculty and staff to provide a safe and secure environment that fosters the intellectual, psychological, physical, social, spiritual, and career development of students.
