The Center

The Child Development Center (CDC) provides a full-day environment for approximately 140 children, ages three months to four years. The CDC offers full-time, five-day care with three- and two-day options. Each classrooms will be designed specifically for the comfort and ease of young children.  The CDC will abide by the National Accrditation Commission for Early Care and Education Program (NAC) standards for keeping low teacher-to-child ratio.

 

 

 

Hot Nutritious Meals

The CDC provides breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Each meal is served family style to provide the children an opportunity for conversation.The Child Development Center participates with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.   Every parents must complete the CACFP Meal Benefit Income Eligibility Form for each child enrolled.  Parents must submit a medical physician statement prior to the child's first day of attendance, if their child requires special diet.

 

Outdoor Play and Multipurpose Room

The Child Development Center has four beautiful playgrounds complete with shaded areas and a variety of age-appropriate equipment and materials. The playground allows for discovery, exploration and gross motor development. Outdoor play will not be scheduled during inclement weather.

The multipurpose room serves as meeting room for children, guest speakers, teacher workshops, parent meetings and center/family functions. During the summer months, the multipurpose room is used for the enrollment of children of ages 6-12 years.

 

National Accreditation

The Child Development Center is nationally accredited by the National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Program (NAC).   Nationally accredited programs demonstrate a commitment to providing a high quality program for young children and their families. Great emphasis is placed on the quality of interaction among the staff and children and the developmental appropriateness of the curriculum.

 

Staff

The CDC staff have a love and understanding of young children. The CDC staff's qualifications range from an Associate Degree in Early Child Care and Development to a BA degree in Early Childhood Education. The CDC staff is CPR and First Aid certified. The teacher-to-child ratio meets the NAC requirements.

The CDC hires work-study students to assist in the classroom.  The student employees are first aid certified.  Student employees participate in a variety of staff development trainings.

 

Licensure

The Child Development Center is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (TDFPS)-Child Care License Division. TDFPS monitors the Child Development Center for compliance with the minimum standards for a licensed child care center. For more information on licensure visit www.txchildcaresearch.org.
