College Start Program

  • The UTPA College Start Program works with 250 high school juniors and mentors them through their senior year of high school as well as prepare them for a post-secondary education.

Go Center Programs and Collegiate G-Force Mentors

  • UTPA  Go Center and Collegiate G-Force (CGF) Mentors offer educational support and training services to Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Middle and  High Schools and the general community. A Go Center is located at either a middle or high school where students can get assitance on how they can be better prepared to attend a college or univeristy.  The CGF Mentors are college students that promote and educate all students visiting the Go-Center on any topic related to higher education.

Mobile Go Center Program

  • The UTPA Mobile Go Center (MGC) is an internet-equipped mobile computer lab to be launched across the State of Texas as part of the College for Texans initiative. Like regular Go Centers, a Mobile Go Center serves as a focal point for students and parents to find information about how to prepare for and access higher education.

Mother-Daughter Program

  • The Mother-Daughter Program is an intervention program for young women in 7th-8th grades and their mothers. The program encourages and supports completion of high school and the pursuit of a higher education, while preparing students and mothers to reach out to peers with college access information through participation in High School Go Centers.
