UTPA Visitor Center

Our Visitor Center is ready to meet the informational needs of prospective students, their parents, current students, faculty members, staff, alumni, visitors and guests. Our Visitor Center is located at our campus entrance, marked by sixty Sable palm trees and a bronze Bronc sculpture.

 

 

Tour Services

Campus Tours

Campus tours are free and intended to familiarize visitors with the layout of the university while providing a general overview of the colleges and the degree programs available.

  • Future Broncs (guided tour for future UTPA students and parents)

Tour is designed for the prospective student planning to attend The University of Texas-Pan American. Visit our beautiful campus with your parents and learn about the opportunities that UTPA has to offer you! This tour includes a presentation and a visit with an Admissions Counselor, as well as a tour of the campus and your academic college of choice. This tour lasts an hour to an hour and a half.

  • Discover UTPA (guided group tour)

Teachers, get your students on the college track! This tour is recommended for pre-college age students ranging from elementary, middle school to high school and junior college students, as well as all UTPA guests. Friends and classmates will discover exactly what UTPA has to offer.  This walking tour showcases the six academic colleges and the UTPA campus and lasts approximately an hour to an hour and a half.

  • UTPA Campus Trek (group tour, self-guided tour)

UTPA Campus Trek Brochure (PDF)This scavenger hunt is available to all school age students (K-12th grades).  The group, with the assistance of their school provided chaperones, will search for campus landmarks. An accompanying brochure provides helpful photographs and clues! The recommended group size per chaperone is 25 students.  The Trek, which begins and ends at the Visitors Center, lasts approximately one hour.

  • Journey through the Solar System (guided group tour)

Journey Through the Solar System Brochure (PDF)Take a walk around the galaxy with this tour that showcases the planets representing our solar system using buildings in the UTPA Science Building courtyard.   Groups scheduling a showing in the UTPA Planetarium will view the planetarium show and the take solar system courtyard tour. The journey taken in conjunction with the Planetarium show lasts approx. 1 hour and a half.

[***Seating capacity in the Planetarium is 40. Larger groups will be separated into smaller groups and will enjoy additional sites on the UTPA campus and rotate into the Planetarium in 30 minute intervals. Group capacity per Planetarium tour is 150.]

Visitor Center Theatre Presentations

A variety of videos which provide information about the University and the six academic colleges are available to visitors. Presentations are given on a walk-in basis throughout the business day. The following videos are shown in the Visitor Center theatre:
