College of Business Administration

The College of Business Administration (COBA) at The University of Texas-Pan American has 49 full-time faculty who serve 2,250 Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and doctoral students. The undergraduate and master’s programs are fully accredited by the American Assembly of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)-The International Association for Management Education. COBA is currently seeking initial accreditation for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Business Administration.

The College of Education includes the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, the Department of Educational Psychology, the Department of Health and Kinesiology and the Department of Educational Leadership. College of Health Sciences and Human Services

Recognizing the need for the University to take a leading role in the education of health care and human service professionals, the College with the assistance and cooperation of regional facilities is dedicated to providing educational programs necessary to meet the needs for competent health and human service professionals in the Rio Grande Valley and Texas.

The College has departments of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Nursing and Social Work, and programs in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, Dietetics and Rehabilitative Services.
Also in the College are cooperative programs in Occupational Therapy with The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and Physician Assistant Studies with The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.

College of Science and Engineering

The College of Science and Engineering consists of the departments of Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Physics and Geology. Two new buildings with state-of-the-art facilities — a $23 million Engineering Building completed in 1996 and a $26 million Science Building completed in August 1997 — make the College one of the best equipped at UT Pan American.

Why do people behave as they do? What is the role of social groups, organizations, institutions, government, culture, leaders, or the individual in shaping human behavior? What might change the way people think and act? These are the types of questions that are addressed in the social and behavioral sciences. Answering these questions requires knowledge at the theoretical, empirical, and practical level, as well as the ability to think logically, analytically, and creatively.
