Camp Insurance Policy
Camp Directors are provided with the option of purchasing Accident Insurance only or a combination of Accident Insurance and Liability Insurance. A brief description of the policies follows. A more through overview of the policies are included in the following documents. This is a decision that can be made in conjunction with the risk management office. The following are some guides that can be used to help you make the decision:
Accident Insurance Only
Accident insurance will pay for any eligible expense if an attendee incurs an injury while attending camp. The Insurance company will pay those charges incurred for such expenses within 52 weeks of the date of the accident. Payment will be made for eligible expenses in excess of the applicable Deductible Amount ($00.00), not to exceed the Maximum Medical Benefit of $25,000.00. The first such expense must be incurred within 60 days after the date of the accident. This plan is in excess of any other insurance. If the Injured Person has other insurance in force, they must file on their primary carrier first even if the provider is out of network. If no other insurance is in force, then this plan becomes the primary plan. "Eligible expense" means charges for the following necessary treatment and service, not to exceed the usual and customary charges in the area where provided including but not limited to the following:
- Medical and surgical care by a physician.
- Radiology (X-Rays).
- Prescription drugs and medicines.
- Dental treatment of sound natural teeth.
- Hospital care and service in semi-private accommodations, or as an outpatient.
- Ambulance service from the scene of the accident.
- Orthopedic appliances necessary to promote healing.
- Physiotherapy
