In compliance with the “Timely Notice” provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the University Police Department is giving notice of an Aggravated Assault on the University of Texas Pan American Campus.
Reported Offense: Aggravated Assault was reported to have occurred on the University campus in Lot-H (1000 Block of West VanWeek) at approximately 9:15 pm, Wednesday, April 4, 2007. This parking area is north of the Math General Classroom Building.

Suspect Information: The suspect is described as a Hispanic Male, in his early 20s, approximately 6 feet in height, approximately 200 pounds and spoke in a heavy Spanish accent
(see photo of person of interest). He was wearing a dark hooded garment and dark baggy pants.

The complainant reported she was returning to her vehicle parked in Lot-H from the area of the University Library. She stated the male subject approached her from behind and assaulted her with an unknown object. The male subject managed to tear some of her clothing. The subject then ran eastbound from Lot-H after the victim screamed and fought him off.
