Parking Update

Parking at UTPA is constantly changing due to the construction of new buildings and parking lots. Here you can find the most current parking information on campus. As with all UTPA property, a valid parking permit is required to park in any University owned property.

Zone 3 Reserved Employee Parking Hours

The hours for Zone 3 parking spaces are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Posted signs, whether permanent or temporary, must be obeyed at all times and take precedence over painted curbs, pavement markings and designations shown on any University maps.

Parking Lot E2

Parking Lot E2 is located northeast of the Education Complex, west of the Child Development Center. This is a 225 space University parking lot and is available for Zone 3 parking M-F.  Crossover time is 7:00 pm, students with a Zone 1 or Zone 2 permit may use this parking lot after 7:00 pm M-F.  As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park on campus.

Parking Lot N1

Parking Lot N1 is a Zone 1 parking lot, it is located on the northeast corner of Sugar and Schunior in front of the Edinburg Baseball Stadium. This is a 400 space University parking lot and is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park in this lot. 

Parking Lot N2

Parking Lot N2 is a Zone 1 parking lot it is located on the north east side of the Edinburg Baseball Stadium. This is a 505 space University parking lot and is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park in this lot. Considered an overflow lot due to its remote location, students and employees who choose to park in lot N2 may ride the shuttle for a closer drop off to campus. Parking Lot M2

Parking Lot M2 is located north of HRBL (former HR building). This is a University Zone 1 parking lot and is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park in this lot.  Additional parking spaces were added to this parking lot Fall 2012. 

Parking Lot K1

Parking Lot K1 is a Zone 2 parking lot, it is located off of Van Week St. north of the Education Complex and north of parking lot E2. This lot is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid  parking permit is required to park in this lot.  Additional parking spaces were added to this parking in Fall 2012.

Parking Lot K2

Parking Lot K2 is a Zone 2 parking lot, it is located off of Van Week St. north of the Math General Classroom Building and norht of parking lot E1. This parking lot is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors.  As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park in this lot.  Additional parking spaces were added to this parking lot in Fall 2012.

Parking Lot U-1

Parking Lot U-1 is located on the north east corner of 5th and VanWeek St. (west of the railroad tracks.) This is a 102 space University parking lot and is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park.

Parking Lot U-2

Parking Lot U-2 is located off of 5th St. east of Lot F and H&PEI (west of the railroad tracks.) This is a 86 space University parking lot and is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park.

Parking Lot U-3

Parking Lot U-3 is located off of 5th St. east of Lot F and H&PEII (west of the railroad tracks.) This is a 91 space University parking lot and is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park.

Parking Lot U-4

Parking Lot U-4 is located off of 5th St. north east of Lot G and ITT bldg. (west of the railroad tracks.) This is a 69 space University parking lot and is open to all students, faculty, staff and visitors. As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park.

Resident Parking (Bronc Village, Unity Hall and Troxel/Heritage)

Resident parking spaces at Unity, Bronc Village and parking lot B are available to all students with a class R resident permit. The gray resident parking spaces are reserved for apartment and dorm residents only.  Residents must display a proper permit at all times.  As with all University parking lots, a valid parking permit is required to park. To obtain a resident parking permit students must present a valid picture ID and their vehicle license plate information.
