The University Police Department Education and Awareness Test is a test composed of multiple choice and true and false questions pertaining to the University Police Department and Parking and Traffic Rules and Regulations.

The purpose of taking this test is to educate students, faculty, staff and visitors of the Parking Rules and Regulations that are enforced year-round. Any student, faculty, staff or visitor may take this test in exchange of having one (1) parking violation excluding disabled violations dismissed.

The citation dismissal test is limited to a once per academic year opportunity. The test is free of charge.

An eligible citation is one that is not past the ten (10) calendar day grace period and it is not a disabled parking violation. Citations that are being appealed are not eligible.

Parking Services will send you an email confirming your citation dismissal or non-dismissal. It is important that you provide your correct email address information on the email address field.

If you tried logging in with your email account information and are still having trouble, try using the same password you use to log in to your oracle account. If you continue to have problems logging in contact the IT helpdesk at 381-2020 for step-by-step assistance or go online to synchronize your password by going to helpdesk.utpa.edu

Visitors wishing to take this test should contact the University Police Department-Parking Services office at 956-381-2738 to receive proper login instructions.

To Take This Test, Follow These Steps:

1. Go to http://www.utpa.edu/citationtest
2. Enter your username and password as you would to check your email on campus (employees may try using same password used to login to oracle account) Visitors – contact the University Police Department Parking Services office for login information.
3. Read introduction and click next
4. Enter all contact and citation information
5. Read each passage carefully and proceed to next page to answer questions that follow. Total number of questions: 21
6. Test is not completed until notice of certification and completion is presented after question #21.
   * Approximate time it takes to complete test: 20-30 minutes.
