Want to Communicate with the UTPA Police Department? “There’s an app for that”

MyPD App

In the latest effort by the UTPA Police Department to increase the department’s accessibility and communication with the public, has released a smart phone application that will connect users directly to the UTPA Police Department from their smartphone.

We encourage everyone with a smartphone to download this app. The University Community can now access information and communicate with us from the palm of their hand as we continue to share more information and increase interaction between the community and police.

UTPA PD partnered with Peabody-based company WiredBlue LLC to develop the smartphone application, which is called the “My Police Department” or “MyPD” app. MyPD was developed by Peabody Police Department Detective Peter Olson, founder of the company WiredBlue LLC. This app is available on either iPhone or Android phones, and is free for citizens to download and use.

The MyPD app includes features for checking on the latest UTPA PD news, including Twitter updates and Facebook posts. It can also be used for sharing feedback and questions, finding directions to the department, and much more. Users can commend a police officer with the app, and submit crime tips by submitting a photo or GPS location data with their tip information.

The MyPD app has become popular very quickly with departments that have released it to the public. There has been a strong demand for the app nationwide and additional features for the MyPD app are currently in development and will be released in the future through free updates.

Users can find the application in the iPhone App Store or Android Market by searching for “MyPD” or by clicking on the tabs below.
