The University of Texas – Pan American, is committed to the effective procurement and use of reliable sources of energy and water, including the production of chill water, which are necessary to support its mission. This means continuously improving the university’s energy-related operations, maintenance, and design of facilities, utility infrastructure, equipment, vehicles, and grounds.
As we face the challenges of rising and volatile energy prices, our focus is to provide the most cost- effective energy fees for our students. We also strive to find a proper operating balance between energy and water consumption on the one hand and a safe and comfortable environment for our students and employees, the university community, and also for our equipment on the other hand.
Also in response to these challenges is our willingness to reach out to the campus community in order that it may assist us in improving the environment through active efforts to reduce energy consumption and pollution.
The university is committed to the continual improvement of energy performance and organizational energy management through its ANSI/MSE 2000:2005 management system. UTPA is dedicated to complying with all applicable local and national energy codes and standards.
