Employment Opportunities

Any individual interested in our posted job vacancies may apply in person between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except official University holidays. Our lobby is equipped with computer equipment and staff to assist you in the completion of the employment application. Submission of applications may be done by mail or in person. At this time, we do not offer online submission of applications. An After Hours Drop Box is available by the front entrance, for your convenience.

  1. All posted job vacancies require an application to be submitted to the Office of Human Resources for minimum qualifications screening.
  2. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of the posted job vacancy in order to be considered part of the Qualified Applicant Pool and have your application packet sent to the hiring department for further review and interview consideration.
  3. All job descriptions are generalized descriptions of typical duties which may be assigned to the incumbent, but should not be considered an all inclusive document.
  4. Applicants applying for positions requiring a baccalaureate degree or higher will need to submit, in addition to the application: a resume and college transcripts.
  5. Applicants who attest on the application to having conferred a certification, license, and/or specialized degree, are required to submit official documentation for verification, regardless of whether the position they applied required it.
  6. Prior to the extension of a job offer, the selected applicant must submit official transcripts to the Office of Human Resources.

  • All faculty vacancies are handled directly by the employing Academic College.
  • A Faculty application may be obtained from our website and must be completely filled out, signed, and returned to the department you are applying with.
  • All questions regarding pay range, duties, and other employment conditions need to be addressed with the hiring department.

Special Notice on Campus Safety

In compliance with the federal Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act, The University of Texas-Pan American publishes an annual report with specified information on campus crime statistics and campus security policies. It includes descriptions of campus crime prevention programs, procedures for reporting crimes on campus, and information about the number and frequency of crimes reported to the University Police Department, local law enforcement, Dean of Students, student activities, residence life, organization advisors, team coaches, and athletic directors over the last three years. Also, it provides summaries of policies as they relate to sexual offenses, liquor law violations, and controlled substance offenses. The report may be accessed at www.utpa.edu/campussafety.

The UTPA Campus Safety and Security Report is now available on the Web. We encourage you to access it at the following address: www.utpa.edu/campussafety. This report contains information about UTPA's security policies and procedures, campus crime statistics, sexual assault program, drug and alcohol policies, help centers, hazing law, and includes links to other vital information.
