Staff Position Application Procedures

  1. All staff applicants must contact Human Resources for any and all questions regarding the application and vacancy status. Please refer to the FAQs section of our website for additional information.
  2. Please complete the UTPA Staff Application for Employment directly to Human Resources at our applicant portal website at Do not submit any application materials to the hiring department. Resumes and a letter of intent may accompany the application but will not be accepted in lieu of an application.
  3. For vacancies requiring a degree and/or certification, transcripts noting the date the degree was conferred must be attached to the Staff Application. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted to initiate the application process.
  4. An active email address is necessary in order to receive a notification for the position(s) for which you applied. Please refer to the Employment Opportunities webpage for our Notification Process for application and vacancy status checks.
  5. Upon submission, the Staff application packet must be complete and signed or it will be considered incomplete. Applicants have three (3) business days from the date of contact to submit missing documentation and/or complete the missing items in the application. If the pending items are not received by the stated date, the applicant will no longer be considered for employment.
  6. All applicants must meet the minimum requirements of the posted job vacancy in order to be considered for interview. The hiring department will determine the candidates for interview and will contact them directly. 
  7. Official transcripts will be required from the selected candidate within three (3) business days of the job offer being extended, if unofficial transcripts were submitted.
  8. Current UTPA employees must submit an updated transcript, if applying for a vacant position. Human Resources is not responsible for providing these documents to an applicant from their current employee file.
  9. All job descriptions are generalized descriptions of typical duties which may be assigned to the incumbent, but should not be considered an all inclusive document.
  10. Degrees obtained outside of the United States must be accompanied with a copy of accreditation from a recognized Foreign Credentials certifying agency. Please contact our office for a listing of agencies.

Any individual interested in our posted job vacancies may apply in person between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except official University holidays. Our lobby is equipped with computer equipment and staff to assist you in the completion of the employment application.
