Repairs / Maintenance


Facilities Management, under director Oscar Villarreal, consists of the following trades that each take care of our UTPA campus and community in different ways. If you have an issue that requires any of these trades' assistance, please  access iServiceDesk to submit a service call.

Bronc Village Maintenance

For all Bronc Village issues, Facilities Management currently has 2 on-site employees addressing any issues that are received at Central Scheduling. Their on-site apartment location allows for quick response to service calls. Issues addressed are:

  • Apartment maintenance (dishwasher, washer/dryer, fan, lights, electrical, HVAC)
  • Water leaks
  • Plumbing
  • Minor repairs of doors/windows


The Carpentry trade consists of 4 employees who address any service calls regarding the following:

  • Ceiling Tiles
  • Door and door frames
  • Glass windows
  • Banner or picture hanging
  • Carpet adjustments

In addition to service calls submitted via Central Scheduling, Carpenters also assist in Special Events throughout campus with labor such as pipes and drapes, floor tarp, dance floor, banners, carpet, and tent setup.


The Custodial crew consists of a Day and Night crew to address 24-hour custodial issues across campus. All off-campus buildings are also attended to by our Custodial crew. In addition to service calls and cleaning schedules, the Custodial crew also assists with Special Event setups such as table setups, floor and carpet cleaning, trash pickup, and restroom restocking.

The Electricians located at Facilities Management service all electrical-related issues as well as preventative maintenance schedules and campus projects. Consisting of 4 employees, the electricians address issues such as:

  • Lighting
  • Fans
  • Power (electricity, outlets)
  • Breakers

General Services

The General Services crew, consisting of 5 employees, handle a variety of issues around campus.

  • Moving of furniture
  • Event setup
  • Surplus pickup/delivery

The Grounds crew consists of a North crew and a South crew to cover on-campus maintenance as well as address any service calls received at Central Scheduling. All off-campus buildings are also maintained on a regular basis.

The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning crew consists of 9 employees who all work on service calls, preventative maintenance schedules and Special Event assistance. Some HVAC issues that the crew responds to are:

  • Ice machines
  • Boilers
  • Refrigerators/Freezers
  • Air Vents & Filters
  • A/C temperatures
  • Air Handlers


The Locksmith crew consists of 2 full time employees. They respond to service calls as well as assist with projects on campus. Some issues are:

  • Doors, door closers and door knobs
  • Locks
