The Writing Center consists of three areas: a computer lab classroom, an individual tutorial area, and a multi-use area for training and Writing Across the Curriculum faculty activities . The computer lab has thirty state-of-the-art computers available for student drop-in use, or the lab may be reserved in advance by a professor. Occasionally, workshops are held in the computer classroom. While the tutorial area of the UWC offers nine additional computers for students to use, the main tutorial area also provides tables where tutors work face-to-face with individual students. All students may use the center on a drop-in basis, no appointment necessary. Tutor consultations are provided free of charge.
