Welcome

The South Texas Border Health Disparities Center at The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) is dedicated to the advancement of knowledge on health disparities by enhancing the institutional capacity to conduct health disparities research addressing issues particular to the largely Hispanic population along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The Center was established in September 2008 by a grant from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

  As part of the 2012 College of Social & Behavioral Science 6th Annual Research Conference at  UTPA, the South Texas Border Health Disparities Center will sponsor a guest lecture by Dr. Michael Montoya as well as a research panel on health disparities in the South Texas border  area on the afternoon of Thursday, April 12, 2012.
