| South Texas students seeking to raise their SAT scores in preparation for college applications now have option of enrolling in the UTPA SAT Prep Course. This course offers complete SAT preparation that goes beyond great classroom instruction and includes realistic practice exams, personalized score analysis, detailed individualized score reports, adaptable course materials, and personalized assignments. The Office of Continuing Education has teamed up with Knowsys Test Prep to offer this highly effective preparation course. The strength of our program is our adaptable curriculum with its dual emphasis on strategy and content. We offer well-rounded and complete preparation courses that provide students a unique combination of vital test-taking strategies, time-saving tips and shortcuts, and thorough content review. During the course, students learn the Knowsys SAT test-taking strategies and systematically review the math, verbal and writing content tested on the current SAT. It includes two practice tests and 33 hours of classroom instruction. After each practice test, students receive Personalized Score Reports that identify their strengths and weaknesses. *As part of the University SAT Prep course, we provide a three-hour informational seminar by an Admission specialist that is open to registered students and their parents, if requested in advance. In this seminar, vital information is provided on managing the university-admissions process, applying for scholarships, and writing effective application essays. |

Instructor:Bobbie Myatt Ms. Myatt is a certified Knowsys Instructor for GRE and SAT prep courses offered through the Office of Continuing Education. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations, and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from UT-Pan American. Bobbie serves as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Office of Graduate Studies at the UTPA Graduate School. She coordinates training workshops for the graduate students to improve their writing skills as well as social development skills to use in the workplace environment. She plans, prepares and presents the workshops monthly and provides all students an opportunity to obtain one-on-one skill building sessions throughout the academic year. She has more than 20 years of professional management experience in sales and marketing, both direct and indirect. Ivan Silva Mr. Silva is a certified Knowsys Instructor for GRE and SAT test prep courses offered through the Office of Continuing Education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with an emphasis in Advertising and Public Relations, and a Master of Arts in Communication Studies from UT-Pan American. At the present time Ivan serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Graduate Studies at the UTPA Graduate School and also serves as Creative Director and Communication Consultant at Iconic Deity D.H. Iván provides services to businesses in the South Texas region in social media strategy, online communication, creative brand design and functional user interface design. Ivan holds over ten years of experience of working and professional experience in management, sales and marketing. |

Registration Fee:Registration fee is $500 until a week before the start date of the course. Registration will close on the Friday of the week before the start date. |
