This certificate program is designed to give you the working knowledge of the state-of-the-art software, Adobe CS5, for web design. Use Illustrator to create images and attractive graphics for the web interface. Discover Flash and all of its power to animate graphics and make your website stand out from the crowd. Finally, put all the elements together in Dreamweaver. Learn the secrets behind the code that physically creates your own outstanding presence on the World Wide Web.

 

Participants who successfully complete the program will:

  • Learn how to create graphics in Illustrator.
  • Animate objects in Flash.
  • Mix all the created elements into a website using Dreamweaver.

*Requirements: Computer proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows.

Mr. Robert Gilbert, MFA
Flash & Illustrator

Robert Gilbert is a graphic designer, digital artist and educator. He graduated from the Otis Parson’s Art Institute in Los Angeles and received a master’s degree from California State University at Los Angeles. His experience ranges from advertising to publication and he works to refine a visual approach that combines the surprise of commercialism within fine art design. His personal work involves the manipulated digital image, employing the concept of a personal mythology. He is an assistant professor the the University of Texas Pan-American.

Ms. Josie de la Tejera, MFA Candidate
Dreamweaver

Josefina De La Tejera is an instructional developer for the Center for Online Learning, Teaching and Technology at the University of Texas-Pan American. She has 10 years of experience in the instructional design and development field. She is responsible for faculty support, design and development of online, augmented and hybrid courses. Ms. De La Tejera holds a B.S. degree from UTPA and is currently a Master's in Fine Arts - 2D design candidate.

The Certificate Program is composed of 3 stand alone courses. Registration is available for the certificate program as a whole or for individual courses.
