Biography

Alonzo M. Cavazos Picture Dr. Cavazos is a native of the Rio Grande Valley. He is married to Rosalie Iris Gonzalez and has two adult children (Aaron and Christine). Rosalie is employed at DSHS as an LBSW/Program Manager.  His daughter is employed as an registered nurse in McAllen, Texas.  His son is employed at a physical rehabilitation center in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Alonzo graduated from Pan American University in 1973 with a baccalaureate degree in Community Services, and he completed his MSSW at UT Austin in 1975. He joined the Social Work Department at UTPA in 1990,and then he completed his doctorate in Educational Administration and Supervision from the University of Houston in 1994.

Psychotherapy (individual, marital, and family) and pain management.
