Biography
Estela Soza Garza is a native of the Rio Grande Valley (McAllen). She received her BA in Community Services from Pan American University. She earned her MSW from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio and is currently working on her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Human Resource Development from Texas A & M University in College Station.
Ms. Soza Garza has over twenty five years of social work practice in a variety of social work settings including employment; child welfare -- child protective services, foster care, adoption, and residential treatment; mental health, home health, rehabilitation, supervision, administration, consultant, and community organizing.

Teaching
Students may know Ms. Soza Garza who taught and served as Chair in the Health & Human Services Program at South Texas Community College (STCC: now STC) for five year prior to coming to UT-PA. She currently serves as the Director of Field Education. Areas of teaching include the Introduction to the Social Work Profession and the Social Work Practice III courses.
