Shirley Ann Wells DR.P.H., OTR, FAOTA Assistant Professor and Chair
Ms. Wells has a Master of Public Health (MPH)-Maternal & Child Health from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, a B. S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, and a B. A. in Latin from the University of Texas, Austin. Her career experiences have included: administration, assistant professor, researcher, program developer, director of an OT rehabilitation department, consultant, acute care therapist, pediatric and school based therapist and private practitioner. She has presented, nationally and internationally, as well as written on a variety of topics related to diversity, multiculturalism, occupational therapy, and health care. Ms. Wells has served as the chairperson of the Commission on Standards and Ethics for the American Occupational Therapy Association as well as a member of its Board of Directors. She is also a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association (FAOTA).
