WELCOME TO PROJECT ENHANCE

What is Project Enhance?

Project Enhance is a three year grant funded project in the Department of Rehabilitation at the University of Texas-Pan American. Funding is provided by the US Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education.

The goal of Project Enhance is to work with disability support offices on university and college campuses to ensure that no student is left behind as they pursue their postsecondary education.

Our Purpose

The purpose of Project Enhance is to provide technical assistance and professional development to faculty and administrators at universities and colleges. Project Enhance will work primarily with other minority and Hispanic Serving institutions.

Our Services

  • Conduct institutional needs assessment
  • Provide customized training in disability legislation and awareness, common kinds of disabilities, students adjustment to college life, behavioral and attitudinal stereotypes, knowledge and use of assistive technology, universal design, universal design for learning, inclusive strategies for teaching, and servicing students with disabilities
  • Professional development activities
  • Follow up and individualized on-site technical assistance

  • The Assistive Technology lab has been moved to Room 105 in the Rehab Annex building. Come check it out!
  • The Project Enhance team recently presented a poster at the Western Region Disability Conference 2009 in Fresno, California
  • Project Enhance just held their First Annual Universal Design for Learning and Assistive Technology Conference on September 21 & 22 in McAllen, Texas.  Thanks to all who attended!
