Nurse Educator Track

The MSN Nurse Educator Track is designed for BSN nurses who seek to further their education and professional role in order to teach in a school/ department of nursing, a continuing education program or a staff develop- ment program in an acute care setting or outpatient care setting. The curricu- lum focuses on curriculum development, instructional design, principles of teach- ing/learning, education evaluation, and application of educational research. It provides students with the necessary foundation to evaluate nursing curriculum and instruction as well as allow students to contract with nursing educators for learning experiences and mentoring.
If your goal is to become a staff development specialist, nursing pre- ceptor, patient educator, orientation leader, or a clinical instructor, the right educational route for you is the MSN Nurse Educator Track. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing:
A BSN degree from a nationally accredited program.
- Registered Nurse:
Current licensure as an RN in the State of Texas.
- Grade Point Average:
A GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale in upper division nursing and in any graduate courses.
- Undergraduate Statistic Course Three satisfactory academic and/or professional references
- Approval by the MSN Student Development Committee
