Student Criminal Background Check
Important Student Information
Beginning Fall 2008, the following programs within The College of Health Sciences and Human Services will require student criminal background checks for all currently enrolled and newly admitted students:
- Nursing Graduate and Undergraduate Programs
- Communication Sciences and Disorders Graduate and Undergraduate Progams
- Clinical Laboratory Science Program
- Dietetics
- Occupational Therapy
- Physician Assistant Studies Graduate and Undergraduate Programs
Successful completion of a criminal background check is required for admission and continuation in the designated programs. Background checks will be honored for the duration of the student’s enrollment in the designated program provided there is no break in enrollment. In addition, students enrolled in programs that do not require a criminal background check should be aware that individual practicum or field sites may require a criminal background check prior to placement at that site. Successful completion of a criminal background check for programs in the College of Health Sciences and Human Services does not ensure eligibility for licensure, certification or future employment.
