Eta Omicron Nu (HON) is a student organization that is an extension of the Guerra Honors Program (GHP), where honor students receive the opportunity to network with other honor students, participate in community service, engage in University activities and host community events. The Alpha Chapter of the organization was founded at Texas Tech University and in fall 2006, the Gamma Chapter of HON was founded at the University of Texas - Pan American.
The students that join this organization are among the most driven and well-rounded students on campus. Because of the drive found within each HON member, HON remains a well-established organization at UTPA. Once a student becomes a member of the Guerra Honors Program, they are automatically eligible to start attending meetings for Eta Omicron Nu. The organization also provides honor students the opportunity to meet with student mentors for help in a number of areas, including the honors thesis that most GHP students must complete in order to graduate with honors from UTPA.
The organization dedicates itself to giving back to the University and its community, bridging the gap between professors and honor students, as well as having fun in everything the organization sets out to do.
Note: All active members of the Guerra Honors Program are automatically members of HON. For more information on how you can become involved, please contact Luis Basurto, President, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
