Driving In?
·        If driving to UTPA from the North or West, take I-10E to I-37S to US281, exit US-281 BUS S, make a right on Schunior St., turn left on N. 5th Ave., then right on W. University Drive.
·        If driving from East, take US-83 W to US-281 N towards Edinburg, exit TX-107/University Drive, follow to UTPA’s campus on the right.
Flying In?
Depending on the airline and flight you select, you may fly into the Valley International Airport (HRL) in Harlingen or the McAllen-Miller International Airport (MFE) in McAllen. The Harlingen airport is 45 miles east of Edinburg and the McAllen airports is 15 miles from campus.
If you are flying, it is strongly encouraged that you rent a vehicle. Automobiles may be rented at both of these airports. Keep in mind that the region has no form of public transportation, so a rental car is essential of you wish to travel to the campus and surrounding region.
Limited Student housing available

Free Housing Days are Wednesday, May 30th and Thursday, May 31st. If Meeting Participants want to have their students stay Tuesday night May 29th or Friday night June 1st they must make arrangements to pay for these extra nights themselves.
Arrangements have been made with the Best Western hotel to reserve a block of 15 rooms. In these rooms we can house 30 students. But since the pairing is 2 students per room, we have to put the same gender of student in the room. Therefore we can house 14 Male students and 16 Female students.
The way this will work is that on your student’s registration form under the area of “Special Accommodations” please have them indicate that they will need housing. Also please indicate on the form if the student is male or female. The student has to register FIRST and send in their registration form to be eligible for the housing set up.
An e-mail will need to be sent directly to so we can put them on the needs housing list. We will house the first 14 Male and 16 Female students that tell us that they need housing. In your e-mail please indicate if the student is male or female.  For those of you who have inquired and already sent an e-mail asking about this subject, Please send an e-mail ASAP with the information that we are asking for about the student name and gender. And have the student register ASAP to request the housing.
We will send an e-mail to all and post on this website when the housing has become full.
Temporary parking permits need to be obtained at the front campus entrance (visitor’s booth) for each day of the conference (the blue “i” on the map near parking lot A6). Parking is allowed for visitors in any non-reserved spot in Parking Lot “F” on the map. This lot is the closest to the Science Building.
