HESTEC Science Symposium

The College of Science and Eningeering is hosting the HESTEC Science Symposium on Monday, September 28, 2009 at the University of Texas-Pan American.  Symposium will be held in the Engineering Bldg, Room, ENGR 1.300 at 9:00 a.m.

Dr. Robert Curl, Pitzer-Schlumberger, Professor of Natural Sciences Emeritus, Rice University.  Winner of 1996 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

South Texas I.S.D. and UTPA students to participate in HESTEC Science Symposium events

Students from The University of Texas-Pan American and South Texas Independent School District high schools will participate in the Science and Engineering Symposium during the sixth annual Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology (HESTEC) Week Sept. 24-29.

UTPA awarded $1 million for Upward Bound Math and Science program

The University of Texas-Pan American has received notification that its Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) grant proposal has been successfully funded effective immediately at an annual level of $250,000 for four additional years, a $30,000 increase over its current funding level.

UTPA to host American Society for Engineering Education district conference

The University of Texas-Pan American is hosting the 2007 American Society for Engineering Education’s Gulf Southwest district (ASEE-GSW) Annual Conference March 28-30 at South Padre Island.

The conference fosters cooperation among engineering and technology colleges, as well as other programs and institutions, including practitioners of the profession and government agencies.

Congratulations to the recipients of the Engineering Week Awards for the Department of Computer Science. Awards to:

The awards will be presented at an awards banquet next week honoring the students and faculty for their achievements as part of the Engineering Week Celebration.
