Welcome to the Web site for the College of Science and Engineering. You can learn about our programs by selecting the appropriate departmental link. I am convinced that it is a great time in history to be a scientist or engineer! The employment prospects are excellent in our fields and the industries and organizations that hire our graduates are making outstanding opportunities available to our graduates. The problems faced by our society are significant as the diminishing supply of petroleum and metals are in high demand globally. New innovations in transportation fuels, building materials, electronics, nanotechnology, and medical equipment will challenge and reward the brightest of our graduates. The space programs, the aerospace industries, and the medical industries are experiencing a ‘graying’ of their personnel in science and engineering and expect as much as 30% of their employees to retire in the next 5 to 10 years. That makes for great prospects for a bright employment future for our graduates. The faculty members in our College of Science and Engineering have been carefully chosen to be sure they have both the state-of-the-art technical knowledge and skills needed in the 21st century and a personal motivation to work with our highly motivated students to help them achieve success
