Research Summary:
Roberto Gregorius received his B.S. from Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines in 1983 and the Ph.D. in polymer chemistry from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, 1991. He was a Post-doctoral fellow at the Max-Planck-Insitut fur Polymerforschung, Germany, from 19911993 and at the AlliedSignal, Morristoen, NJ from 1993-1995. . In 1995 he was appointed Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Texas Pan American. He became Associate Professor in 2001.
He has recently developed a new General Chemistry Laboratory which consists of the Lab Manual the CD and the Lab Notebook.
His current research interest includes synthesis and characterization of novel electrically conductive polymeric materials. He is developing blends and copolymers of electrically conductive materials and investigating the structure-property relationships in these systems. He is also involved on using interactive software to develop stand-alone tools that allow students to investigate ideas without any supervision or guidance.
