Advising

Each psychology junior and senior student is assigned a psychology faculty adviser. The Psychology Department Office should inform you who your advisor is. You can meet with your advisor at any time to discuss your academic work, educational and career plans, and other related issues. Before you can register for the next semester, you advisor has to remove your registration hold for you. Prior to your meeting with your advisor each semester, it would be helpful for you to first take a close look at your academic work records in the Degreeworks system to get a clear idea of your current progress status in the program. Some of the issues you may have may be beyond your advisor's authority to resolve. In that case, he or she will refer you to the department chair for a possible resolution of your issue.
