Alternative Certification Program
Please note that the Alternative Certification Program (ACP) is being phased out, and we are no longer taking applications except for Special Education.
The Alternative Certification Program (ACP) at The University of Texas-Pan American was an "earn as you learn" program. A person holding a bachelor’s degree could obtain a teaching certificate while employed as a full-time teacher. University coursework prior to teaching develops instructional skills and prepares students for required state mandated test.
