TExES Testing for Current Students

All certification programs require State mandated testing

  • Tests for certification are called TExES (Texas Examinations of Educator Standards)
  • All information can be found in the 2014-15 TExES/ExCET Registration Bulletin or refer to the TExES ETS website for testing, registration, and dates

First time test takers registering for the computer-administered tests (CAT) must submit their Pre-Registration forms five (5) working days before they intend to register online to be approved for the test.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Test Dates for computer-administrated tests (CAT) are viewable to registrants in the ETS online registration system. You will not be able to view the CAT test dates until you have been approved to register for an exam.

What's New in 2014-2015 (TExES ETS website)

Administration of Test: Paper-Based Exams (PBT) will no longer be offered. The tests will be moving to Computer Administrated Test (CAT).

Change in Test Retake Policy: Texas Education Code §21.048 was amended and now requires no more than 45 days to elapse before you are eligible to retake a test. This policy is effective September 1, 2013.
